Once the 24-hour window closes on an official WhatsApp line, the only thing you can send is a template Meta has approved in advance. You build that template in Twilio's Content Template Builder and submit it for approval.

After approval you also have to register the template in MetoCRM — that step is in the official template guide.

Before you start

  • An approved Twilio WhatsApp Sender.
  • The template text and the variables you intend to use, written out in advance.

Step by step

  1. Log in to your Twilio dashboard. Click on the Messaging button in the left main menu. Press the Content Template Builder button. Click on the Create New button in the top right corner. Enter a name for your template in the Template name field within the desired limits. Choose the language of your template in the Template Language section. In the Select Content Type field, choose whether your template content is text-only or includes media by selecting Text or Media, then click the Create button. Write your template content in the Body section. If you want to add an automatic name extraction value, click on the Add Variable button below and specify where you want it to appear. Click on the Save and submit for WhatsApp approval button. In the small pop-up that appears, click on the Body button. If you want to include a name within the provided values, for example, you can enter a hypothetical name like " John " and then click the Save with samples button. In the Select template category section, choose the Marketing option. Click the Submit button. !! After completing your actions, make sure to test the connection.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Careful Meta reviews marketing templates more strictly. In medical tourism the easiest approvals are transactional: appointment confirmations, document requests, pre-operation instructions. "Don't miss out — 40% off!" gets rejected regularly.
  • Careful Never put a medical claim in a template ("guaranteed result", "permanent cure"). Those breach both Meta's policy and healthcare advertising rules.
  • Tip Build one template with variables rather than one per scenario. Fewer approvals, easier maintenance and less rejection risk.

Frequently asked questions

How long does approval take?

Usually minutes to a few hours. If it is rejected, Meta states the reason and you can fix the text and resubmit.

Can I edit an approved template?

Changing the wording requires a fresh approval. Move anything that changes often into a variable rather than baking it into the text.

Why does variable order matter?

MetoCRM sends variables in order. If that order does not match the Meta template, the patient receives the wrong name or the wrong date — and it cannot be corrected after sending.
